What you get
A week-by-week plan
Three kettlebell sessions a week, planned for six weeks. The first weeks teach the moves, the later weeks add a set and build them up.
A video for every move
Each kettlebell move has a demonstration video and clear form cues, so you can see how a hinge or a press should look before you lift.
A voice coach
An AI voice coach, recorded in advance, counts your reps, times your rest and tells you what is next, so you can keep your eyes off the screen.
Easier options
Most moves have an easier version you can swap in with one tap if a move feels too much on the day.
A health check first
A short check at the start asks about your back, joints, balance and pregnancy, and leaves out plans and moves that are not right for you.
One bell is enough
The plans are built around a single kettlebell. Warm-ups and cool-downs use your bodyweight.
Plans and workouts
Two six-week kettlebell plans take you from your first deadlift to a full kettlebell strength session.
Kettlebell: Beginner
Hinge, press, row and carry with one kettlebell, 3 days a week for 6 weeks, about 15–20 minutes a session. No swings, snatches or cleans, so you learn the basics first.
Kettlebell: Strength
The next step: squats, deadlifts, lunges, presses and rows, 3 days a week for 6 weeks, about 20–25 minutes a session.
Want a single session instead? The workout library has kettlebell workouts at three levels:
- 14-Min Kettlebell Express (beginner)
- 15-Min Full Body Kettlebell (intermediate)
- 30-Min Kettlebell Strength & Power (advanced)
- Kettlebell Burn (advanced)
Kettlebell moves inside the app include:
- Goblet squat
- Deadlift
- Romanian deadlift
- Press
- Row
- Lunge
- Suitcase carry
- Swing
- Windmill
- Snatch
Choosing your kettlebell weight
Start lighter than you think. Many beginners start around 6–8 kg, and stronger beginners around 12 kg. A good test: pick a weight you can deadlift and goblet squat for 10 clean reps. You will usually manage a heavier bell for deadlifts than for presses.
The beginner plan keeps the same moves for the first three weeks so you can learn them, then adds a set, and in week five asks you to go up a weight only if it feels easy. For a full walk-through of the moves and a 20-minute routine, read our free beginner kettlebell workout guide.

Questions
Is there a kettlebell workout app for beginners?
Yes. Train at Home has a Kettlebell: Beginner plan that teaches the hinge, press, row and carry with one kettlebell, three days a week for six weeks. It leaves out swings, snatches and cleans until you have the basics, and every move has a demonstration video.
What weight kettlebell should I start with?
Start lighter than you think. Many beginners start around 6–8 kg and stronger beginners around 12 kg. Pick a weight you can deadlift and goblet squat for 10 clean reps. Our free beginner kettlebell guide explains how to choose.
Do I need more than one kettlebell?
No. Both kettlebell plans use a single kettlebell. If you have not added a kettlebell to your equipment, the app gives you a bodyweight strength plan instead, and you can switch once you add one.
Is the coach a real person?
No. The coach voice is AI-generated and recorded in advance. Each move is shown in a demonstration video.
Who are the kettlebell plans for?
Adults aged 18 to 59. The health check at the start leaves the kettlebell plans out if, for example, you have low back pain, a fall risk or are pregnant. As with any new exercise programme, check with your doctor first if you have a health condition.
Is it free?
Train at Home is free to download. Free users get one plan session a week and a few moves for each body part. Train at Home Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks every plan session and workout; the price for your country is shown in the app before you buy.
Train at Home is a fitness app, not a medical device. Check with your doctor before starting a new exercise programme.
